Isaac; Five Months.

Has it really been five months since I gave birth this beautiful little life? This sweet joyful soul has simply brightened our lives.

My beautiful, bubbly Isaac,

In five months, you have simply blessed each one of us. Even your brothers have come to know that being around you means being full of laughter and joy. You are growing so fast. You love to laugh and play and kick. You are constantly moving. More recently, you love playing "ball" with daddy. You can  roll all over the place, are almost sitting up on your own, and can kick your way to almost anywhere. You are such a big boy now eating your cereal and purees twice a day! Though, I still love our special alone time together when you are breastfeeding. You are sleeping through most nights, and now in your own room. Occasionally, you just need some extra cuddle time; momma doesn't mind that one bit! You are so strong and can grab hold of anything in front of you. At your last checkup, you weighed 15lbs. and were 26 inches long; tall just like your brothers!

You are so observant and love to watch your big brothers; you laugh at their playfulness and watch so carefully as they talk and play. It's as if you are just taking note as to all that you will soon be doing! I can imagine you just running with them and joining in to all their shenanigans!

Clearly, you and daddy already have a special bond. As soon as he enters the room, you lock eyes on him. You smile and laugh as though you share a special secret. However, you still know when momma is in the room; your eyes twinkle and you give me that sweet lopsided grin.

You have come to know your precious Grammy and Gramps; they love you so much. We all love you so. And the days are just speeding by as you, my sweet boy, are growing and learning and blessing us. I thank God for your life each day.

Love you truly,
Momma

On This National Day of Prayer.

"Before there can be fullness there must be emptiness. Before God can fill us with Himself we must first be emptied of ourselves." - A.W. Tozer

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

Almighty God, you have given us this great land as our heritage. We humbly pray that we may always remember your generosity and faithfully do your will. Bless our land with honest industry, truthful education and an honorable way of life. Defend our liberties and strengthen the resolve of the people who have come from throughout the world to make America their home. Lead us to choose the harder right instead of the easier wrong. Help us to appreciate the opportunities that are ours as we struggle to bring harmony to an unsettled world. May we balance our concern for justice with a willingness to display mercy, and may our concern for security be tempered with a willingness to take risks which will produce worthwhile change for the good of all people. O Lord, we pray for your guidance as we work together for the best interest of our communities, our nation, our world, and the ultimate goal of peace. When times are prosperous, let our hearts be thankful and in troubled times may our deepest trust be in you. Amen. [Chaplain's Service Book of Prayers]
