Merry Christmas From Our Family To Yours!

May your hearts be filled with the Peace, Promise and Love that Christmas brings.

"God grant you the light in Christmas, which is faith;
The warmth of Christmas, which is love;
The radiance of Christmas, which is purity;
The righteousness of Christmas, which is purity;
The belief in Christmas, which is truth;
The all of Christmas, which is Christ."
                          - Wilda English

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
                                                                                  Luke 2:8-16 (KJV)

Much love to you,
BJ, Kim, Eli, Zek and arriving soon, Isaac

The Boys and The Belly.

My precious wild boys will be big brothers in one week. Emotions are running high. With Christmas in a few days, it's all excitement and anxiety around here.

The boys have no idea what's about to happen. How their world will be forever changed. It's bittersweet, really. How can it not be? My babies won't technically be "the babies" anymore. They'll be the big brothers. The older ones. The examples. ...There will be a new life in our family. Another person. Even just days away, it's hard to imagine.
And, it's exciting too. Another life to love, to hold, to believe in, to raise, to watch grow. A little brother. To see big brothers teach, protect, learn. I'm so grateful and blessed.

As we prepare to celebrate the birth of Christ, I am full of thanks and have an even newer, stronger appreciation for God's grace. How He has carried me throughout this pregnancy. How He has saved me from myself. I could not be a [good, productive, loving, sane, patient] mother without God's grace.

37 Weeks
Reflecting.
There have been days. Days when I seriously thought I was on the brink of insanity. Days when I actually wondered why God would see it fit for us to bring another child into this world. Pregnancy hormones to blame? Most likely. The hormonal part alone makes me question ever having another child.
But it's exciting too. This life inside of me, growing, thriving, kicking, moving....then one day pulled from you kicking and screaming. And then holding onto you for dear life. Dear life. Sweet life. LIFE.

There have been days when I felt the boys were a bit cheated this second year of their life. Because I am pregnant and for months have not been able to keep up. I've been limited. And I feel bad. It sounds silly on paper, but it's a feeling. I know they have known no less love.

The Boys.
Learning sure hasn't been shorted around here. It's amazing how much they soak up. Give them pen and paper, sing to them, talk to them and they listen and they learn....fast. My (almost) two year olds are praying, counting, singing, conversating, pointing out colors, shapes, and letters, drawing "people", "flying", "race-car driving", dancing, remembering, repeating (EVERYTHING). I believe in God's promises for them and I believe in them. They will do great things in their lives. Great things.

Mysterious! Exciting! I find myself bracing for what's to come. Oh, how I believe in this new little life. This little boy, "who shall be called Isaac". This thing I know for sure, "...he will bring laughter". Lots of laughter.

And so we shall become, Scales, family of five. Sounds good to me.
